Graciela DeAnda is an interdisciplinary artist, filmmaker, and photographer based in Minneapolis, MN. Born in Sioux City, Iowa in 2001, she began with photography and now works across moving images, textiles, and installation to examine faith, culture, and personal identity. Her studio practice explores religion, storytelling, and memory through historical photographic processes such as mordançage and cyanotype. The fragility and unpredictability of these techniques echo themes of impermanence, resilience, and transformation, while their ritualistic nature reflects her engagement with faith and belonging. Drawing from connections with Latino migrant communities, she reflects on continuity, collective memory, and cultural inheritance. Her work has been exhibited nationally, including solo shows at the Zhou B Art Center in Chicago and the Le Mars Art Center in Iowa. Selected group exhibitions include SooVAC (Minneapolis, MN), Gallerium Art (Toronto), d’Art Center (Norfolk, VA), and ArteLatinX (Omaha, NE). She is in the private collection of The University of South Dakota Art Galleries following her research project, The Migrant Communities of South Sioux City.
