At Highpoint Center for Printmaking
This workshop combines creative writing with hands-on cyanotype printmaking. Participants will begin by writing a short poem (either during class or brought from home) drawing inspiration from BIPOC poets who work with brevity, such as haiku or micro-poems.
Students will then layer text with natural or found objects on light-sensitive cyanotype paper to create visual-poetic prints. The workshop emphasizes experimentation, reflection, and the relationship between language and image, resulting in unique blue-toned prints that merge writing and photography-based printmaking.
This workshop will be taught in both English and Spanish.
